• My husband, son and I love to camp, spend time on the lake and downhill ski. We have two dogs, three cats and a tortoise. I love to read, garden and play video games. We love Disney, Star Wars and LEGO. My goal for the summer is to get one of the local hummingbirds to eat from a handheld feeder. I am also a librarian part time for our local library!

Bio:

Dr. Tonya E. Brown (previously Boyle) grew up in Kennebunk, Maine, and is proud to call Seacoast New Hampshire home. Announcing at the age of three that she would become a veterinarian, she remained dedicated throughout her life to achieving and maintaining her goal to be the best possible clinician for her clients and patients. Also, from a young age, Dr. Brown volunteered every chance she could at local veterinary hospitals and worked many years as a veterinary technician. She graduated with a B.A. from Colby College in Waterville, ME, and then became established in Madison, WI, to attain her veterinary degree. After graduating from the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a competitive small animal rotating internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. This rigorous program reinforced her passion for complicated medical cases and her dedication to helping her clients provide the best quality of life possible for their pets. Dr. Brown worked as a general practitioner and emergency doctor in Maine for a year between her internship and residency programs and loved the time she spent with her family. She then completed a coveted three-year Internal Medicine Residency at North Carolina State University. She passed her exams, had her publication accepted, and became Boarded in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Dr. Brown is also a Certified Fear Free Professional and founded Birch Veterinary Internal Medicine.

• I am an American living in England with my French husband.

Bio:

Jessica Adamany is originally a Maryland resident and graduated from the Virginia–Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After completing a rotating internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada she moved overseas where she undertook her internal medicine residency. She currently works at Pride Veterinary Centre, a large multi–disciplinary referral practice in England. Here she is involved in the supervision of 4 internal medicine residents and is the co–director of the rotating internship program. She is passionate about teaching and case discussion and enjoys the positive connections built through teamwork.

• I grew up as a “rink-rat” and still figure skate and play ice-hockey!
• I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio – making me an insufferable Buckeye football fan!
• I met my husband Corey on Match.com and we now share our love of travel with our daughters, Evelyn and Avery.

Hi there! I am the internal medicine specialist for a large and busy general practice group in Kansas City, Missouri. There, I help bridge the gap between GP and higher cost 24-hour or referral care. After the initial disappointment of not pursuing my dream to stay in academia I spent the first 7 years of my career in specialty private practice and consulting on another veterinary website. During this time I started developing my characteristic cost-conscientious and pragmatic approach to internal medicine. In 2020, I left practice for a while to pursue my true passion for education. During an amazing 3 years I filled-in as locum faculty at various teaching hospitals, acted as a key thought leader in industry, and lectured nationally about providing medicine services on the spectrum of care. ​Now, I am thrilled to be back ​practicing what I preach!

Ali Kendall is a small animal internist at North Carolina State University. She has a special interest and advanced training in Nephrology/Urology and minimally invasive procedures. She is currently working on board certification in Nephrology/Urology. She loves teaching and is passionate about spreading knowledge about the kidneys, clinical reasoning and all things medicine!

• I'm married and have two kids: one boy and one girl. Right now we've got a dog, 6 chickens, a fish tank full of fish, and 4 bee hives. I'm a big college football fan (Go Buckeyes!). I love reading, baking, rowing, and being outside or at the beach with my family.

I'm an internist who has been in private practice for most of my career. That being said, I'm currently doing mobile consulting and helping general practitioners have access to advanced diagnostics such as endoscopy and ultrasound in their hospitals.

• Dr. Neiman and her husband have two daughters as well as two dogs – Pippa, a cuddly rescue pup, and Cosmo, a goofy standard poodle. In her downtime, Dr. Neiman enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, and art.
  
  

Bio:

Dr. Neiman attended Cornell University where she received a B.S. in Animal Science before obtaining her DVM at the University of Minnesota. Following veterinary school, she continued her training with an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Neiman returned to Minnesota to practice emergency medicine before completing a residency in small animal internal medicine at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and achieving board certification. Dr. Neiman then practiced as an internal medicine specialist in Northern Virginia for four years before moving back home to the Northeast where she currently practices in New York and Connecticut.

• I have a wonderful husband and two amazing kids!
• We have two COVID dogs, Hopper and Joyce (any Stranger Things fans out there?!), and two
  cats, Wilson and Amber.
• We love to have people over and chill in the yard or the pool! We also like to tent camp, crazy, right?!

Bio:

I started my “grown up” career in private specialty practice, where I stayed for many years in several different locations in multiple states. I transitioned to an industry role for a few years as a professional services veterinarian working to launch exciting therapeutics. Currently, I am in a mobile specialty practice where I literally walk in the back door of many vet hospitals and jump in to help!

• My boyfriend and I have 5 Labradors and one terrier that rules the roost.
• I live at an 80-dog boarding kennel, hence I am fairly immune to barking.
• I love to travel to warm places in the winter.

Bio:

I graduated from University of Minnesota in 2000, completed a rotating internship in Georgia and completed an internal medicine residency in 2004. Following this I worked in private specialty practice then ended up in Alaska working at the University of Alaska, doing clinical work and training sled dogs. I started and own my own practice in Colorado in 2016, Sport Dog Specialty Medicine, which is a mobile veterinary specialty practice encompassing my two specialties, working in clinics and my mobile van clinic. Prior to veterinary school I instructed Outward Bound courses and lived outdoors as much as possible.

• My husband Josh and I have a wild child, Lainey, who is 5 years old.

Bio:

Dr. Clark graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee. She completed a rotating small animal medicine & surgery internship followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at BluePearl in Louisville, Kentucky. She served as an Internal Medicine Clinician at a large ER and specialty private practice for several years before co-founding Veterinary Specialist Partners (VSP) in 2019. VSP is set to open a new hospital in Louisville early next year and currently serves patients out of two locations in Kentucky and Indiana. Dr. Clark is also a co-founder and current Chief Operations Officer of Veterinary Oncology Partners which partners with primary care hospitals to provide comprehensive oncology consultations and customized chemotherapy for patients who are unable to travel for access to board-certified oncologists.

Fun Facts About Me:

• I am a "mostly sane" cat lady as I have four cats (Jet, Silver, Pierre and Francios). I played two sports in college (volleyball and track & field) and still enjoy being active in those. My favorite food is cherry tomatoes and I have a fraternal twin!

Bio:

I'm a born & raised St. Louisian who obtained a bachelor's degree in biological sciences before receiving my veterinary degree from the University of Missouri. I completed a one year rotating internship at Auburn University before returning to Mizzou for a small animal internal medicine residency which I completed in July 2023. My professional interests include hospital medicine and anything feline.

• I live with my husband and son, along with a wire-haired Dachshund named Willson, Goldendoodle named Goose, and two orange tabby cats named Doug and Leela.

Bio:

Dr. Vanessa Von Hendy-Willson (Dr. V.) received her DVM from Purdue University in 2005. After two years in private practice, she decided to specialize and went to The Ohio State University for a rotating internship and then Purdue University for her residency.

In 2011, she became Board Certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She then moved to Greenville where she joined the Upstate Vet team.

Fun Facts About Me:

• I was a philosophy major in college (magna cum laude; like overachiever in philosophy status). This provided me with an amazing platform to think critically, write effortlessly, and stay curious. I considered being a philosophy professor for awhile – but this is much more my gig.
• I have a Boston Terrier named Pep, an allergic cat named Stella, a chubster house cat named Chips, a daughter named Claire, and a husband named Andrew. Oh! And 5 chickens! We live just outside of Boston in a house that my grandfather built.
• I love to listen to health podcasts! I mostly listen to “Resetter” and “Feel Better Live More” – both on lots of topics about understanding the root cause of disease, intermittent fasting benefits, and lifestyle hacks to improve stress/longevity.

Meagan Painter is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist who practices in the Greater Boston area. She is curious, collaborative, and creative and loves writing, lecturing, and sharing veterinary dermatology.

• I have been playing piano since I was 3 years old and sing my favorite songs at the top of my lungs.
• I love building and have a home full of custom woodworking projects.
• Our home is LOUD with two small, energetic children, two terrier mixes, and any number of family and/or friends who stop by to be fed by my amazing husband’s cooking at any given time.

Bio:

Brittany Lancellotti is a veterinary dermatologist at Veterinary Skin and Ear in Los Angeles, California and the founder and host of the Your Vet Wants You to Know podcast. While in veterinary technician school, she worked at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. She attended Western University of Health Sciences, graduating with honors and receiving numerous awards. After a rotating internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, she completed a dermatology residency with Animal Dermatology Group in Pasadena. She is an international speaker and is passionate about educating, as well as minimizing fear, anxiety, and stress for pets, clients, and staff alike.

Amelia is a Georgia native and attended the University of Georgia for undergraduate and veterinary school (c/o 2010). She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Illinois in 2014 and has been a faculty member at Auburn University ever since. She is married and has two boys, Henry and Elliott. She loves to be outdoors playing sports or working in the garden, and is an active enthusiast of all things music and wine! :)

• I am married to my husband Matt and just recently welcomed a new baby girl, Caroline.
• We have a golden retriever rescue named Wake and one of my favorite breeds is angry, mean Chihuahuas. I love going to the beach and being outside (only if its above 75'F), watching reality TV and spending time with my family.

I completed my undergraduate degree and veterinary school at Auburn University. I then completed a rotating internship at a private practice hospital outside of Nashville, TN and returned to Auburn for my dermatology residency (War Eagle!). My board certification was in 2021 and I am now practicing near my hometown in Santa Rosa Beach, FL with a private practice specialty group.

• I am married to my amazing husband, Scott, who is a mortgage lender in Charleston. We went to high school together but didn’t start dating until vet school. I have two super awesome children, Lucy and Knox, who keep me on my toes.
• My pets include rescue dogs Tater Tot (Tater) and French Fry (Frenchie) and a Sphynx cat named Yoda. I love to ride my horse, Talia, as often as I can.

Bio:

Dr. Kristin Fischer was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN, where the Atomic Bomb was developed and where the Oak Ridge Boys got their name. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007, and after completing a rotating general internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, CO, she stayed on for one year as a staff emergency doctor. She returned to Knoxville in 2009 to complete her ophthalmology residency at UTCVM. She is board certified in ophthalmology and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Dr. Fischer has practiced in South Carolina since completing her residency and currently works at Animal Eye Care of the Lowcountry, where she sees patients in their Mount Pleasant, Ladson, and Myrtle Beach offices.

• Outside of work, I love to travel, read, bake and decorate fancy cakes and explore with my husband, daughter, and son. Our cat ‘Colby’ and Shiba Inu ‘Bento’ make up the rest of the family. Bio:

I grew up in Rhinebeck, NY, taking in any and all stray animals that my parents would allow (including a wayward cockatiel that randomly landed on my head outside one day). I attended Union College for undergrad, double majoring in biology and psychology. My undergraduate (psychology) advisor told me, ‘don’t worry, when you don’t get into vet school, you can fall back on medical school.’ I recognized the reverse psychology and was undeterred, attending Cornell University CVM, where I found a love of surgery and, eventually, neurology. I pursued a rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ, before returning to Cornell for a Neurology/Neurosurgery residency. Upon completion, I returned to Oradell and have been a staff neurologist there since 2011.

• I’ve read close to 150 books for fun this year.
• I have a rescue dog named Reggie and a rescue cat named Lupin (after Professor RJ Lupin of Hogwarts).
• I lived IN a zoo for a month, and I’m a big fan of snail mail.

Graduate of Washington State University and residency trained in a private practice setting in Seattle, WA. Professional interests include immune-mediated disease, medical management of spinal cord injury, and education creation for the general practitioner and emergency clinicians.

• I have a dog named Buddy (the generic name he came with) and a cat named Dotso (named after my 94 year old grandmother's nick name). Previously, my cats and my vet school roommate's cats were all named after "How I Met Your Mother" characters.
• My husband is an ER veterinarian and we met and started dating the first month of vet school. We were married on our dating anniversary 11 years later during a covid-elopement! We were so fortunate to be able to share our anniversary the following year celebrating with our loved ones.
• We have a 16 month old little girl named Leah, who is named after my mother Lauren who passed away a few years ago. It's been incredible watching her grow into a small human that would make her grandmother proud.
• I sang a cappella in college and there is a moderate number of embarrassing videos of me singing on the internet.

Bio:

Dr. Ilyssa Meren received her DVM from Cornell University in 2013. She then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at The Animal Medical Center in NYC. After this, she went on to complete a Neurology & Neurosurgery residency at Iowa State University (with a little bit of her residency spent at the University of Illinois as well). Since she finished her residency in 2017, she has been living in Phoenix, AZ where she has worked as a private practice neurologist as well as a locum neurologist all over the country in both academia and private practice. She is currently in the very early stages of rebranding her locum business to more of a teleconsulting & telemedicine practice in order to assist veterinarians and pet owners who are unable to see a neurologist in person.

• My dog, Bogart, was the first dog I ever did a neurological exam on. He was part of the cohort of dogs that we did our first-year neurological lab exam. I impulse adopted him on the spot. Little did I know I was taking home both a dog and a career that day.

  I enjoy acting and love being involved in and attending theater performances. Most recently, I have been taking acting classes in dramatic acting most recently and participate in a local improv group.

Bio:

Ryan (@thebraindogtor on socials) is a veterinary educator and neurologist based out of Auburn University. His teaching focuses on foundational neuroscience, applications in clinical neurology, and microanatomy. He also owns The Brain Dogtor Consultations and Education, offering online consultations for veterinarians via stratocyte.com and VOCN. Dr. Gibson is beyond excited to expand into VetHive and support this amazing community! Through these consultations, Dr. Gibson aims to serve a population of pets that traditionally may not have access to specialist-level care and support veterinarians on challenging cases!! Dr. Gibson collaborates with researchers on projects exploring new treatments for neuropathic pain, studying the aging of the neurological system across species, and seizure therapies. He founded Pet Parent Educators, which aims to increase client education following the diagnosis of chronic conditions such as seizures and diabetes and through various life stages with both live virtual and on-demand options.

My name is Amy Thomson, and I am a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist. My passion and purpose is to help veterinary teams provide the best oral health care YEAR-ROUND! For me, it’s not just February that is Pet Oral Health Month – it’s EVRY month! During my time in general practice, I was fortunate to see first-hand how much oral health can improve our pets’ overall lives when done correctly, fueling my growing passion.

While I truly loved working with my team and families to provide oral care, I eventually decided I could help more pets by helping to educate more veterinarians and veterinary health care teams as a specialist. After completing a three-year Dentistry & Oral Surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I moved back to Ontario, and after a short time in a large specialty & referral practice, I started my own mobile practice. Both my time as a general practitioner and the years spent working along time primary care teams has given me the unique experience to help provide guidance and knowledge that is helpful and applicable for general practitioners that want to provide the best oral care!

Stacey Leonatti Wilkinson graduated with her DVM from the University of Tennessee in 2006. Since graduation she has worked on exclusively exotic pets, first in Raleigh, NC, then in 2015 she opened Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital of Georgia in the Savannah area. In 2013 she became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Reptile and Amphibian medicine. Dr. Wilkinson is also an adjunct assistant professor at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been published in scientific and non-scientific journals, written multiple textbook chapters, and lectures nationally on exotic animal medicine and care.

Ashley Emanuele graduated with a degree in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, before transplanting to North Carolina. Once in the south, she worked as an aquatics curator at the local natural history museum before attending NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Ashley spent five years in exotics-exclusive private practice and became North Carolina’s first Certified Aquatic Veterinarian. Ashley is currently the President of the American Association of Fish Veterinarians, and juggles her mobile aquatics practice with exotics relief work and an in-home end of life care practice. She is passionate about demystifying aquatics and exotics, and making excellent care for these unusual species achievable for all vets.

Bio:

Marc Silpa is a Fear–Free certified veterinarian passionate about exotic animal care. With a BVM&S degree from the University of Edinburgh and additional training in zoo and aquarium studies, he has provided advanced veterinary care to a wide range of animals, from manatees and sea turtles to domestic pets and exotic animal species. Marc used to work as a marine mammal vet before moving to the desert. He was then hired at a mixed animal practice as the practice’s exotic veterinarian. Currently, Marc works in a 100% exotic animal practice while pursuing board certification through ABVP (ECM).

• I live with my husband and 2 boys. We have 3 dogs, a rabbit, an axolotl and an Oldenburg horse. I love CrossFit, running, beekeeping, and riding my horse as much as humanly possible.

Dr. Emi Knafo completed her veterinary training at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2008 followed by internships in large animal surgery and zoological medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and University of Georgia, respectively. Dr. Knafo continued her clinical training with a zoological medicine residency at Cornell University, after which time she joined the faculty in the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine Service at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University from 2014-2018. Subsequently, Dr. Knafo joined the Exotics Service at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ before coming to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Zoological Medicine in 2022.

Dr. Wells attended Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Fort Collins, CO and a Master of Science in Clinical Sciences. She went on to complete a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego in San Diego, CA. Following her internship, she returned to the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she completed a Critical Care Residency. She went on to become an Assistant Professor for one year. Raegan has worked in private specialty practice in Maricopa County AZ for 15 years.

In her spare time, Dr. Wells enjoys traveling the world and spending time with her family.

Bio:

Hi, I’m Will Baker. I am an emergency veterinarian, husband, father, and entrepreneur. I grew up on a beef cattle, dairy cattle, and tobacco farm in Middle Tennessee. I graduated from The University of Tennessee and completed a rotating internship with BluePearl. The majority of my career has been in emergency medicine in multispecialty hospitals and I wouldn’t have it any other way–there is something really powerful about being at the front lines of a busy emergency room with a group of engaged professionals. I am particularly interested in fundamentals and how to simplify the art/science of emergency veterinary medicine.

Lenore received her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007, followed by a one–year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Louisiana State University. She completed both a residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care and a master’s degree at Auburn University in 2011, where she remained on faculty for an additional eight years.

Lenore joined BluePearl in 2019 as the Clinical Programs Manager, emERge, the innovative emergency mentorship and training program. In 2021, she became the Senior Director of Clinical Affairs, working to support training programs, current and new, BluePearl Science and our telemedicine service. She became the Vice President, Clinical Affairs for BluePearl in 2023 and in addition to previous areas of support, also supports nursing, quality, and blood banking.

Lenore has been an invited speaker at numerous national/international and regional conferences, including the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Forum, the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium (IVECCS), the American Veterinary Medical Association Convention, and numerous regional and local continuing education events.

Kate Baker grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and completed her DVM at the University of Tennessee in 2012. She then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship and then a clinical pathology residency and Masters degree at the University of Illinois. Kate became board certified in 2016. Her professional passion is creating resources and experiences for veterinarians to learn and thrive in practice. She is the founder and CEO of Veterinary Cytology Schoolhouse, Pocket Pathologist, and VetHive. Dr. Feltes graduated with her veterinary medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2006. In 2007, The Behavior Clinic opened as a mobile veterinary behavior service which grew to its existing 3000 sq. ft. facility. TBC services dogs, cats, exotic pets, zoos, and equine patients. In 2023, the Pet Education Center was opened as a TBC behavior therapy center for patients and public training services. Dr. Feltes has also developed and implemented a bite prevention program for the Olmsted Falls school system. She won the 2018 R.K. Anderson Resident Research Award for her publication focusing on aggression between housemate dogs and gained her status as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in 2020.

Mary Klinck is a graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island. She completed a Large Animal Surgery Internship and worked in equine practice and small animal practice before completing a Veterinary Behavioral Medicine Residency at the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed a Ph.D. at the University of Montreal (focusing on pain assessment/measurement).

• Dr. Bové lives in Colorado with her husband (Brian), daughter (Avery), cat (Izzy), and dog (Darcy). She is an avid runner, hiker, soccer player, wellness and nutrition coach, and certified personal trainer.

Dr. Christina Bové received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. She then completed a rotating small animal internship at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Following her internship, Dr. Bové worked as an Emergency and Relief GP Clinician in Houston, Texas as well as completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Canada before working in preclinical heart failure research at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas. Dr. Bové then completed a combined cardiology residency and Masters’s program at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. Dr. Bové is a Board-Certified Diplomate from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology).

I am an assistant teaching professor of cardiology at the University of Missouri, and am responsible for overseeing cases presented to our service and house officer and student training. I love just about everything about cardiology, but especially love that I get to train future veterinarians and cardiologists!

Dr. Wesselowski is a board certified veterinary cardiologist. She went to veterinary school at Kansas State University, completed a private practice rotating internship in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a cardiology residency at Virginia Tech. She is currently on faculty at Texas A&M University where she enjoys seeing patients, teaching and training students, interns and cardiology residents, and participating in clinical cardiology research.

• I grew up in a beautiful mountain valley in rural Montana, and it’s where my heart is still stuck.

I graduated from vet school at Colorado State in 2006, did a rotating internship at Animal Surgical and Emergency Center, then a surgery internship at Oregon State University, then back to Colorado State University for small animal surgery residency as well as a one-year fellowship in surgical oncology. I’m currently in private specialty practice in Northern Colorado. I do ~60% surgical oncology, ~20% minimally invasive soft tissue and orthopedics, and ~20% other soft tissue and orthopedics. My professional passion (besides being in the operating room) is encouraging, supporting, and bringing confidence to general practitioners in the realm of surgery.

Dr. Sanchez attended Colorado State University where she earned a BS in Equine Science. She then earned her DVM at UC Davis and followed up with an academic internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Dr. Sanchez then returned to Colorado and worked as an associate in several large animal referral hospitals before starting her own practice, which she eventually grew from a solo equine-exclusive practice to a 6-doctor mixed animal practice. Along the way, she completed board certification in Equine Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and has stayed active within ABVP mentoring applicants and currently serves as the Equine Regent. Several years ago, Dr. Sanchez sold her practice to relocate to New Mexico for more wide open spaces and to be closer to her extended family. She now works as a solo specialist, focusing on Equine Dentistry and Equine Lameness and Sports Medicine, however she retains strong interest standing surgery and emergency/critical care, as well as consulting, teaching, and speaking opportunities. I began my veterinary career over 25 years ago as a veterinary technician, ultimately obtaining duel Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) status in both ECC and anesthesia. I completed vet school at Ross University and Tufts University, graduating in 2011. Next, I did my internship at The Animal Medical Center in NYC, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at Kansas State University. I became a DACVAA and Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner in 2015. I then completed a second residency in emergency and critical care at Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Trauma & Specialty (AVETS) in Pittsburgh, PA, and became a DACVECC in 2018. I’ve published over forty peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and am the editor for several landmark nursing textbooks, including Veterinary Technician’s Manual for Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care, which is now available as a second edition through Wiley-Blackwell publishing.

Dr. Kate Kraft grew up in Dallas, TX and received her Bachelors and DVM degrees from Texas A&M University. Stacy Binstock is a NJ native who was transplanted to the midwest for seven years for vet school and residency training. She has been working as a medical oncologist in private practice for over 15 years. Her passion is to provide personalized, practical options for treating cancer in pets and to give her clients and patients an excellent experience despite the difficult journey. Stacy created an oncology telemedicine service called Lotus Pet Oncology to provide access to cancer care for dogs and cats nationwide.

Kathleen Tidd is a Pennsylvania native who completed her dual degree undergraduate work in Toxicology and Animal Biosciences at Pennsylvania State University before receiving her veterinary degree at North Carolina State University. She completed a year-long rotating internship in a busy Pittsburgh private practice which solidified her love of oncology. After becoming boarded in medical oncology through a residency at the University of Pennsylvania, she accepted and currently holds a position with The Oncology Service in Virginia. She currently serves as program director of the oncology residency program at the hospital.

Dr. Sarah Eaton graduated from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 with a focus on equine practice, the completed and internship and residency in Theriogenology. Since then she has worked throughout North America in mixed animal, equine racetrack, and primary/referral equine practices. In 2021 she left private practice to join the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine faculty. Dr. Eaton became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners – Equine in 2021. She is a current member of the AVMA, AAEP, ABVP, SFT, and ACT. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Eaton serves on committees for the AAEP, ABVP, and ACT. When not working, she is kept busy with her three horses and three cats.

Dr. Jaime Rechy Jr., DVM, DACVR is the Chief of Radiology at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG). He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Texas A&M University. He completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Tennessee, followed by a radiology residency at North Carolina State University. Dr. Rechy joined VEG after working in a busy specialty and emergency pet hospital, where he helped create a radiology department and mobile ultrasound unit. He currently serves on multiple ACVR committees, reviews manuscripts for JAVMA/AJVR, and enjoys speaking at national conferences.

Dr. Kelsey Cline is an Iowa native, and attended Iowa State University for both her undergraduate and veterinary degree (Go Cyclones!) Following graduation, she did a 1 year internship at 2 private practices in the Chicago area. She was lucky enough to be selected for a residency at Auburn University for 3 years where she simultaneously completed a masters degree. Upon completion of her residency, she moved back home to the midwest, and currently reside outside of Indianapolis, where she works for a large specialty practice.

Dr. Tyler Carmack is currently the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care for Caring Pathways and Lead Veterinarian at Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice in Virginia Beach. She has been practicing exclusively hospice and palliative care since 2011 when she founded Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice. Dr. Tyler completed a rotating internship (Friendship Hospital for Animals) and ophthalmology specialty internship (Long Island Vet Specialists). She holds certifications in acupuncture, Chinese food therapy, hospice and palliative care, and TCVM end-of-life care. She has served on the Board of Directors for the IAAHPC (International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care) since 2016.

Dr. Emilia Wong Gordon received her DVM from the University of California, Davis in 2005 and obtained specialty board certification in Shelter Medicine Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 2020. She has worked as a veterinarian in GP and shelter settings in the US and Canada. In 2022, she started a veterinary practice based out of Vancouver, British Columbia providing mobile and consulting services to animal shelters and other animal welfare stakeholders. Dr. Gordon is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion work and her professional interests include infectious disease, animal welfare epidemiology, and feline behaviour and welfare.

Dr. Dines completed her Bachelor of Animal Sciences and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After graduation, she started work in a shelter in Northwest Indiana during the peak of canine influenza outbreaks in the Chicago area. While she initially was not looking to pursue a residency, after working with University of Wisconsin to clear an influenza outbreak at her current shelter, she started a residency in shelter medicine shortly after. She achieved board certification in shelter medicine in 2023, but continues a non-traditional path. She owns her own business, which seems to have no limits, providing relief coverage for shelters and general practices, while also consulting for shelters and occasionally doing house calls.

I’m a veterinarian, a wife, a dog–lover, and an introvert (an IntroVet™)! As a practitioner, my special interests include emergency medicine and heartworm disease. As an advocate in the vet world, I’m passionate about education, improving the health and wellbeing of veterinary professionals, and increasing access to veterinary care.
 

I graduated from Kansas State University in 2012, practiced in South and Central Texas for nine years, and now in Florida! I’ve served on the Board of the American Heartworm Society since 2016, and founded IntroVet (formerly Lone Star Veterinary Academy), an introvert–friendly continuing ed community, in 2018.
